IT'S A WRAP

It’s been a great year of play at Mountain Christian. It has been a blessing to have so many folks participate in this activity of our Sports Ministry. During the off season, keep a check on this site for updates. The kind of information you might see includes:

  • Starting date for 2010
  • Special dates of play in the offseason based on weather
  • Special events and outreach both on and off campus

Let us know if you have any great stories from this season that you’d like to share. See you in 2010!

The view from the end of the tunnel

The view from 39 degrees, 28.1 minutes North 76 degrees, 22.6 minutes West is looking good for paintball this weekend.  This is it! We play on Saturday normal hours 9 - noon. Sunday we start registering for the tournamnet around 1:00pm.

We expect a big turnout both days, so please come ready to play.  Tanks full, hoppers loaded.  As always, we'll have some paint, some air and some CO2, but if everyone is not ready to play when they hit the ground, we might not have enough.

This has been a great season.  Keep a lookout over the winter.  If there is a forcasted mild weekend (or there is 30 inches of snow on the ground) we may decide to put a quick game together.  Also, we are working with some non-profits about maybe doing a game or two over the winter with some folks that stay in area shelters.  Don't miss the fun.

We have a ministry leadership meeting in January to make plans for spring.  Let us know your suggestions.  We should be posting the 2010 start dates to the blog sometime around the end of January.

God Bless and thanks for your support.

Could it be any better??

What a beautiful evening!
The lovely tranquil image of the golden fall leaves can only be made better by the carnage of semi-automatic pneumatic weapon fire echoing in the woods.  And you my friend are just the one we need here to bring it loud and long. In a loving and honoring way of course.
It should be one of the driest weekends in a while.  The temps should be perfect for fast action.  See you in 14 hours.

The MCC painball team

PS - Don't miss the information on the upcoming outreach comedy event.  Dec 11 and 12.  Check the website for details that will be coming soon.

Weekend update

About 28 souls braved the "partly cloudy" weather Saturday and were rewarded with lots of mud and a lot of play time. Just a few reminders.
  • The Tournament is scheduled for Sunday November 29th. Play starts promptly at 3pm. Be here no later than 2:30 to get registered and chronoed. Set up is 1pm if you can make it.  Be ready to stay late for a special surprise.  Register the next time you attend.
  • Remember to come ready to play.  Many, many people are coming needing paint and air.  Please get everything ahead if at all possible and we will be ready to back you up.
  • If you've not given us your email address yet, please do so soon.  We are getting a list together to notify everyone about next year and in case we do something on spur of the moment on a nice weekend. timkick@mountainchristian.org
Look forward to seeing you all on Saturday, the weather looks great!

We should be a go!

Based on all the forcasts for Saturday, we should be good to go.  The rain is set to hold off until evening.

Only a few weeks left of the season.  Come ready to play, gas up load up.

If you can make it to help with setup at 7:00 or so, great! If not, consider staying to help with teardown. Your mccpball volunteer team thanks you.

A Dismal Day Is Forecast But Hope Springs Eternal

The weather forecast for the weekend is once again NASTY. As always, we are optimistic that there will be a long enough break to allow us to get in a few hours of play!

Once again, we'll try to get the website updated as soon as we know the field conditions will or will not support us. No later than 8am Saturday.

Keep pulling for good weather and we'll hope to see you on the 17th.

TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
  • SUNDAY NOVEMBER 29th.
  • Mid Afternoon
  • 3 on 3 - Paintball leaders select the teams
  • Must have played at least one week since May.
  • Email us if you plan to participate or sign up on Saturday morning.

BOY THIS IS GETTING OLD

Once again we turn to the weathermen and say "What are you thinking?!!!!" It seems they just can't get it together.

Most of the forecasters are calling for isolated showers over the next 48 hours. Some are saying hard rains on Saturday. Who knows!

At this point we plan on being there bright and early on Saturday morning. Some of our regular helpers will be late, so if you can make it around 7 or 8 to help out it would be amazing.

Check out the goodies at the registration table.

Come ready to play if you can. Ask about the upcoming tournament!

If the rains come in a serious way, we'll post an update by 7:30 or 8:00. The heavier the rain the earlier the post.

!!!!!!!!!WE ARE ON!!!!!!!

Sorry for the late post, the Internet was down for bit.

Things are clearing out nice and the field is set.

See you soon

Do weathermen know anything?

Hey gang,

Looking at the forcast it seems folks can't make up their mind. The temps will be perfect Saturday, but will it rain??????????

Depends on which weather site or weatherman you like. At this point we are expecting to play with some great weather, maybe a drizzle here or there. We'll update by 8AM Saturday if that changes.

COME READY TO PLAY - The church provides (for a cost) paint, air and CO2 as a backup. Please stop at a local shop and get your tanks prepped and some paint before you come. We're sometimes running low on stuff almost as soon as the games start. Not fair to those that come ready and need a little help later into the morning. Let's support the shops that support us.

Thanks and see you Saturday morning, remember, can always use your help after 7:00am for setup or after noon for cleanup.

Your MCC Pain(t)ball volunteer crew

A Go So Far

FRIDAY 8:30AM -

Looking at the weather forecast this morning, it would seem we should be a go at this point. Might get a little damp, but nothing serious.

If that changes, we'll post in the morning prior to 8:00am. Tune in then for more details.

Feel free to come early, help us set up and contribute to field evaluation!

God Bless, see you soon.

Heads Up Saturday!!

The grim weather forecast from earlier in the week is apparently moving away from the area. The forcast for Saturday is sunny and a high of 70. That should mean perfect temps in the morning!

There will be a lot of traffic on the grounds Saturday morning for the Annual Women's Conferfence (featuring Liz Curtis Higgs if you want to make points with Mom or the Wife) in the NLC. Please try to park on the lots by the old building (Lots 3 - 5). Don't stop on any of the roadways except to drop gear and go park.

There is also the Angel Food pickup in the Social Hall of Mountain Center. Bunch of folks for that too. Busy busy place.

Appreciate your help and look forward to seeing you Saturday.

Support your local paintball shop and be ready to go!

Weekend Update

Thanks to the 15 hearty souls that braved the elements to play on Saturday morning. Thanks also to those who helped with setup and tear down.

Here's some stuff for you to look over:
  • Prayer Request - Please keep Jason Rotondo's wife Jennifer in our prayers. She had some surgery last week. Things seem to have gone well and she's home. The nature of the surgery has a long recovery period, so let's pray for the whole family.
  • Youth Activities - Anyone interested in something to do Sunday nights? 9/20 the Mountain Youth Ministry starts Fuel, a program for Senior High and Middle School students.
  • Young Adult - Those of you in the 18 - 26 group may be interested in our young adult group. Check out
  • Men - We got LOTS of stuff just for you.
  • Adventure Seekers check out our 4x4 and motorcycle groups.

That's it for this week. Keep your fingers crossed for the weekend coming. Weather is iffy, but still pretty far out. Look for an update Friday night or early (8am) Saturday.

Coming Soon - Tournament Information for the Fall!

God Bless

Support Your Local Paintball Ministry

Hey gang,

Most of you know how hard our volunteers leaders work to make paintball an available and exciting part of Mountain's Sports Ministry program. It is a LOT to do every week.

Do you think you can help us out a little? Last week we had one person stay to help teardown the equipment and put everything away. That meant that three people deflated, cleaned and stowed the bunkers; not to mention all the other stuff that needs cleaned up.

So here's the deal -

Set Up starts at around 7:00am. Help is great if you can make it here between 7 and 8. We usually have a pretty good setup team, although more are welcome any time.

Clean Up starts as soon as the smoke clears until we're done. Really hurting here.

Israel and Jason are getting old. This is way too much work for them to do by themselves.

Thanks in advance for your help. 2 Thess 3:10; Isaiah 65:22

The MCC PBall Volunteer Team.
